Little B had only been taking for a couple of months. He was eager and excited and really struggling to learn how to control his fingers. Finger coordination was not a natural talent. But he always made me laugh.
One day, when he arrived for his lesson, I was down in the studio finishing with another student. My daughter watched B walk in the house, take off his shoes, and start down the stairs to the studio. Suddenly he stopped with a loud gasp, ran back to the door, grabbed his shoes, left the house and shut the door behind him. He knocked. Alyssa opened the door and said, “Did you forget something?”
B answered, “Yes. I forgot to knock.”
How can I not love a student that so earnestly tries to follow rules?
